Hi I’m Gerald Boykin, and I don’t mean for this post to start out and sound like a commercial for Tums or anything like that, but if you look at todays society, you will find that 98% of the population including young adults and some younger children, are too acidic. Our western diet causes us to have a low ph ( potential hydrogen )which leaves us open to diseases like arthritis, heart problems, kidney problems and in time can lead to organ failure and cancer.
As stated above 98% of Americans are too acidic as evidenced by our chronic illnesses, and being even with the trillions of dollars spent on our health care, being no# 47th in health among the industrialized nations. Also, the evidence of our acidity is the body’s aches and pains, the joint aches and pains and the over one billion dollars spent yearly on acetaminophen…over the counter ( otc ) pain relievers, which brings up another point, liver failure, and death do to the over dosing of the ( otc ) pain relievers.
Deaths, and hospitalizations do to over the counter pain relievers.

There are a number of diseases that are caused by the foods we regularly consume, because our western diet today is very acid forming, and in spite of what some doctors say, our diet has a very close relationship to diseases like crohns disease, ibs, ulcerative colitis, and acid reflux.Consuming acid forming foods long term, can and will cause acidosis, and long-term acidosis is a known precursor to acid reflux disease, irritable bowel syndrom, diabetes, arthritis bad cholesterol, cancer and other serious health problems.

As I did the research for this article I noticed that in every stage of acidosis there was at least one issue that defined crohns disease symptoms. So when the question is asked
Do you need this ibs diet?
The answer is, yes! Look over the stages of acidosis again.
